Description

Tackifiers are viscosity index (V.I.) improver polymers in concentrated, pellet, or rod form. They are dissolved in oil to prepare an economical additive for multi-grade engine oils, or an aftermarket “oil treatment” additive. They may also be used as an inexpensive glutinous agent for oil in order to avoid blending with expensive oils like bright stocks.

Tackifiers are an olefin copolymer derived from ethylene and propylene.
